Oat Day 2026
Shaping the Future of Oat Farming Together
On May 27, amid summery weather, Brüggen welcomed around 80 farmers and partners to this year’s Oat Day at Klaas Röhr’s farm in Feldhorst. The event provided a platform for professional exchange on all aspects of oat farming and highlighted the importance of close collaboration between agriculture and the food industry for a sustainable future.
The highlight of the day was a joint field tour. At various stations, experts provided information on current developments in winter and summer oat cultivation, as well as innovative approaches to sustainable agriculture. Topics discussed included sustainable farming methods, soil quality, and ways to promote soil health.

Another key focus was the discussion regarding the upcoming harvest and the requirements for quality and storage. Practical information and real-world experiences from the field provided participants with valuable insights for the coming season.
In addition to the technical content, Oat Day offered numerous opportunities for personal conversations and the exchange of experiences. The event once again underscored the importance of open dialogue throughout the entire value chain and the close partnership between Brüggen and the farming operations.
With many new ideas and valuable contacts, Oat Day 2026 came to a successful close. The event demonstrates how mutual exchange and trust contribute to the sustainable development of oat cultivation and to shaping the future together.
